Оn November 14, 2017, the first congress of the private enforcement officers (PEOs) took place at the Ministry of Justice and the Association of Private Enforcement Officers of Ukraine was established.
The congress elected a chairman of the PEOs Association, approved its Charter and the Сode of Ethics for PEOs, and established the management structure.
“Establishment of the PEOs Association is envisaged by the law. But, first of all, it is aimed to demonstrate that PEOs are not collectors. It is an institute created for ensuring effective enforcement of court decisions. It is a clear signal to the public – from big enterprises to average citizens – that now it can use an effective instrument for restoration of violated rights”, – said private enforcement officer Andriy Avtorgov.
The set up of PEOs institute takes place as a part of the judicial enforcement system reform with assistance from the EU Project “Support to Justice Sector Reforms in Ukraine”.
