The EU Project “Support to Justice Sector Reforms in Ukraine” and the Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA) continue a series of roundtables to carry out analysis and opinion exchange on the amendments of the Law of Ukraine “On the Bar and the Practice of Law”. On 14-15 April, the events have taken place in Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk.
The participants to the round tables could share their opinion regarding the key provisions in the draft law: professional rights and guarantees of advocates, entrance and access to the legal profession, exclusive rights of advocates for representation in courts, approach to the self-governance of the bar, as well as changes in disciplinary liability of advocates.
The experts of the EU Project “Support to Justice Sector Reforms in Ukraine” Rytis Jokubauskas and Oksana Tsymbrivska have spoken about legal regulations and self-governance of the bar in the EU Member States.
