Round table “Competition in the Intellectual Property High Court”

The Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA) in a partnership with the EU Project “Support to Justice Sector Reforms in Ukraine” and the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine (HQCJ) will hold a round table to discuss the issues of selection of the candidates for vacant positions of judges in the Intellectual Property High Court.

The participants will include representatives of HQCJ, the High Council of Justice of Ukraine, the Council of Judges of Ukraine, the Intellectual Property High Court candidate judges, the Association of Self-Governance of Judges, as well as the experts and legal scholars.

International conference “Private Enforcement Officers’ Self-Governance: European Practices to Set Up Ukrainian System”

The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine together with the USAID New Justice Program, OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine, the European Union Project “Support to Justice Reform in Ukraine”, the Commercial Law Center, the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ), and the International Development Law Organization will hold the international conference “Private Enforcement Officers’ Self-Governance: European Practices to Set Up Ukrainian System”.

Private enforcement officers (PEOs) and representatives of self-governance organizations from France, Lithuania, Georgia, Moldova, and Serbia will share their experience in setting up and development of the PEOs self-governance system, effective structuring and run of the respective self-governance bodies, financial management of the self-governance bodies, and ethical standards that PEOs are abide by in different jurisdictions. Besides, the first Ukrainian PEOs will take the opportunity to have a discussion in order to develop and agree their own position and vision regarding the future Code of Ethics, the Statute of the future Association of Private Enforcement Officers of Ukraine, and procedural details of the upcoming first National Congress of Private Enforcement Officers.
