On 5 September, the first stage of the open competitive recruitment of heads of local Public Prosecution Offices was launched at the Prosecution Academy of Ukraine. On this occasion the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko visited the Academy.
“With our joint efforts, soon we will have a new prosecution which is enjoying the public confidence, helping to build the new state and fighting against corruption,” – said the Head of the State.
The recruitment and testing process is supported by the European Union which provides necessary funds and expertise with the help of the EU Project “Support to Justice Sector Reforms in Ukraine”.
The process includes two stages. First stage – testing for the acting prosecutors. Second stage – testing for lawyers and advocates who applied for the positions in the local Public Prosecution Offices. Successful candidates will undergo the 2-month training courses provided by the prominent local and foreign legal specialists followed, as well as a significant practical course.
The recruitment will take place in Kyiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Lviv and Dnipropetrovks. It will be monitored by Ukrainian and international legal experts and the representatives of civil society organizations.
