“I welcome the appointment of the representatives of the civil society organisations to the nominating panel, which will recommend for the Appointing authority members of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.
This transparent and well-prepared step brings much needed credibility to the future activities of the Agency and lays ground for further progress preventing corruption in Ukraine.
As for the immediate future, the EU expects to see concrete results and progress in the fight against corruption and looks forward to the prompt appointment of the members of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption based on fair, transparent and competitive selection.
We expect Agency’s future leadership to act in full independence and establish an operational Agency within next months. We also look forward to development of an efficient system of electronic asset disclosure by the end of the year.
The EU stands ready to continue its financial and technical support in the fight against corruption, including with help of the EU Advisory Mission, “Support to Justice Sector Reforms” project and all other available instruments.
