The EU Project “Support to Justice Sector Reforms in Ukraine” in cooperation with the National Courts Administration of Lithuania has organized a study visit to Lithuania for members of the Council of Judges of Ukraine (CoJ) and the High Qualifications Commission of Judges of Ukraine (HQC).
The study visit is taking place on 18-24 May. Its main objective is to strengthen capacities of CoJ and HQC in the light of the implementation of recently adopted Ukrainian Judiciary Development Strategy and Ukrainian Justice Sector Reform Strategy 2015-2020.
The agenda of the study visit envisages meetings at the Supreme Court, the Constitutional Court, the Court of Appeal and the National Court Administration of Lithuania. Lithuanian colleagues will be sharing their experience on the issues of development of the consistency of the case law, evaluation of judges, performance management, judicial ethics.
The delegation will also meet with the members of the Committee on Legal Affairs of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania and visit Law Faculty of Vilnius University to learn about the way judiciary in Lithuania cooperates with academics and participate in legislative drafting process.
