On July 27, 2017, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine during the plenary session approved a rating of 320 candidates for the positions of the Supreme Court judges. 120 people became the winners of the competition, among them – judges, lawyers, scientists and specialists with a combined experience.

“Among the winners of the competition, we see professors and teachers, a volunteer judge who defended the Donetsk airport, human rights defenders with experience in the European Court of Human Rights, lawyers who have received education in leading international universities. I hope that they will become new faces of Ukrainian justice soon”, – Sergiy Koziakov, Head of the HQC said.
The competition began on November 7, 2016. 1436 persons registered for participation in the competition, 846 persons submitted documents for participation, 653 of them were admitted to the competition, 625 of them – before passing the qualification assessment.
